Aircraft Crash Near Mostar – 2017
On May 13, 2017, a light aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff near the Mostar airport, resulting in the deaths of five people, including three children. The flight was a panoramic sightseeing tour organized for local families. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud bang before the aircraft went down. Investigators later concluded that the cause was likely a combination of mechanical failure and pilot error. The tragedy deeply shocked the local community and led to stricter controls on private flights and aviation tours.
